What are you going to do if you lose your cellphone and can’t text your friends?
What are you going to do if the WiFi is acting up and you can’t check your social media?
What are you going to do if your dog chews your expensive designer shoes to bits?
What are you going to do if a bird poops on your expensive designer dress?
What are you going to do if your house burns down tomorrow?
What are you going to do if you are told that your whole family is going to die next month?
Will you cry out to God “Why are You doing this to me?” or will you say “Let Your will be done!”? What does it matter what happens to you on this earth, and what you lose in the course of your life? They ought not to matter, because we who believe have our eyes set on the afterlife.
Lord, make me dead to the world that I may never be tempted by its temporary delights.
